Assistant District Attorney - Child Support
The District Attorney’s Office in the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit has an opening for an Assistant District Attorney – Child Support. The purpose of this classification is to organize, manage, and direct staff in locating parents who owe child support to children whose cases fall within the jurisdiction of the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit, to obtain appropriate legal process against such parents, to establish and then vigorously enforce court-ordered support obligations, and to prosecute child support cases under the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act and related laws. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Juris Doctorate, supplemented by three (3) years previous experience and/or training that includes experience as a practicing attorney with a broad background in civil and criminal litigation; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid law license to practice in the State of Georgia and Court of Appeals. All candidates are subject to a background check. Applicants selected for hire will be subject to fingerprinting, a criminal history background check, a motor vehicle driver’s history check and pre-employment drug screening.
