Greene County conviction

Jonkevius O’Neal pleaded guilty on August 9, 2021, to a 37 count indictment that charged him with a series of crimes that occurred on September 2, 2019. O’Neal and his co-defendant, William Doyle, were indicted for six (6) counts of taking motor vehicles, twenty-five (25) counts of entering auto and six (6) counts of Violation of the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act. Senior Judge William A. Prior, Jr., sentenced O’Neal to 20 years with the first 12 years in prison, restitution, a fine and banishment from the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit. Doyle had pleaded guilty to these charges on July 19th in front of Superior Court Judge Alison T. Burleson.

O’Neal admitted that he and his co-defendant drove stolen vehicles to a parking lot adjacent to Reynolds Landing in the early morning hours of September 2, 2019. They walked through a foot path and broke into vehicles that were parked at residences inside the gated community, stealing cash and guns. They also stole six cars, leaving three of them in the Fishtales parking lot. The other three vehicles were recovered later through the investigation led by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and included the Clayton County Police Department, Cobb County police Department, Dekalb County Police Department and the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

O’Neal was a self-admitted member of Bloxh Rixh criminal street gang which is headquartered in Dekalb County. Bloxh Rixh is a sub-set of the national street gang “Gangster Disciples”. The crimes were committed to financially benefit the gang and further their criminal activity. The week prior to pleading guilty in Greene County, O’Neal had pleaded guilty to similar offenses in Forsyth County and has pending charges in other counties as well.

Once he is released from prison, O’Neal is prohibited from having any contact with any members of the gang. The prosecution was led by Chief Assistant District Attorney Allison Mauldin.
