August is Drug Abuse Awareness Month

This month, the Jones County District Attorney's office is raising awareness to drug abuse in the community. In 2019, the Jones County District Attorney's Office disposed of 121 felony drug cases. Last year, approximately 28% of arrests reported to the DA's office involved felony drug charges and 47% of felony arrests involved felony drug charges. These numbers do not include arrests made for DUI or misdemeanor marijuana. The August awareness tree displays information to help educate the community about commonly used drugs and encourages the reader to make the good choice to say no to drugs and yes to success. Drug use limits your potential. You can soar to the highest of your purpose driven abilities by staying drug free. The sky is the limit!
