April Awareness Tree- Child Abuse Awareness Month
The Office of the District Attorney uses a "tree" each month to bring awareness to an issue that affects our community and, in some manner, the judicial system. The month of April is National Child Abuse Awareness Month. Our tree is decorated in the representative blue color and lists some sobering facts about abuse here in Georgia. With the shelter in place order in effect, however, our office wanted to make sure that the important message of this month was not missed. So if you cannot come to us, we will go to you. The children's windmills displayed outside the Jones County Government Center represent children in our community who have suffered abuse. When you drive by, we hope that this brings this issue into the forefront of your mind.
